What do I need to bring with me?

You will need to bring:
- your UK driving license
- a motorcycle helmet that meets British safety standards
- a pair of good boots that cover your ankle 
- a pair of motorcycle gloves
- a sturdy, warm jacket and trousers ideally designed for motorcycle use. A pair of good-quality jeans is acceptable as a minimum.

We want you to be safe and comfortable, so we encourage you to dress suitably.

We reserve the right to stop the training if you are not suitably dressed. No refund will be offered.

Is a CBT a test, an I fail?

CBT training courses were introduced in December 1990 to improve road safety and reduce motorcycle accidents.

A CBT is not a test; it's a basic training course that teaches you how to handle a motorcycle and ride safely on the road.

A CBT course certificate can be withheld if the instructor assesses that after receiving the training, your riding does not meet minimum standards.

What is the Student to Instuctor Ratio?

Riding instruction is always carried out at a 2 to 1 student-to-instructor ratio (unless 1 to 1 has been requested and paid for).

We believe this provides a better quality of service to you compared to the DVSA’s maximum ratio of 4 to 1 on CBT courses.

How old do I have to be?

To use our bikes, you have to be a minimum of 17 years old

You can learn to ride a moped when you are 16, but you would need to use your bike for this as we do not have any 50cc mopeds suitable for 16-year-olds to learn on.

Question 5

Do I need to take a theory test?

Accepted Answer

No, you do not need to have completed the theory test before taking a CBT.

We expect you to have read the highway code and understand the rules of the road.

How long does a CBT course take?

It is a common myth that the CBT is a one-day course, it is not uncommon for some students to require a second day to complete the syllabus and be safe on the road

If you require longer than a day to attain the necessary standard of riding or just want to continue learning a little more, additional time can be purchased for a second day at a discounted rate of £125

Can I learn on an Automatic?

Yes, if you want to use your motorcycle.

If you use out motorcycle, you will learn on a geared bike, completing the course on a geared bike allows you to ride either a geared or an automatic.

What happens if I drop or crash the bike?

You pay for the damage, see the FAQ "Am I Insured whilst training?"

Am I Insured whilst training?

Accepted Answer

You need to be able to legally ride our bikes on the road, so Insurance is mandatorily included with your training. Our insurance covers damage to any of the bikes you use during training; however, this is third-party only.

Personal injury is not covered and you partake in training at your own risk

Do you have parking onsite?
