UNITED KINGDOM
A One-on-One Coaching Day along a great route through the stunning Lake District National Park
This training day ride is for you if you want to improve your handling, observation, and cornering, all whilst spending a day riding the best passes that the Lake District has to offer.
Our training route also takes us past Derwent, Windermere, Ullswater, Grasmere, Thirlmere, Coniston and more. We ride Kirkstone, Honister, Wrynrose, Newlands, Blea Tarn, and of course, the infamous Hardnott Pass towards the end of the day.
Suitable for newly qualified riders and riders wanting to gain more road skills
HARDKNOTT PASS
HIGHLIGHTS
We start the day with a discussion over a coffee on your own riding experience and any challenges you are having to get an understanding of where you are, and where you want to be.
Then we will hit the road on our planned training route through the Yorkshire Dales, we stay away from many of the busier roads to allow you to concentrate on your skills. Our standard training route (which we can change to accommodate individual circumstances) covers a wide mix of roads and landscapes, we will stop plenty of times to maintain an ongoing dialogue and adjust the training accordingly.
This is a nice, easy-paced day, we stick primarily to the back roads and avoid most of the roads where the traffic generally is.
After lunch, we ride along the shores of the Thirlmere, Derwent, and Grasmere lakes before tackling Langdale, Blea Tarn, Wrynose Pass, and Hardnott Pass where we pause to stretch our legs and have a walk around the ruins of the old Roman Hardnott Fort.
This training is not designed or oriented to speed, it will teach you about observation, positioning, cornering, and braking, above all it will teach you how to be safe and give you the skills necessary to get more enjoyment out of your motorcycle in a wide range of circumstances.
