The Journey So Far

M8 MOTO was founded by David Coulthard - no, not that one, the other one, the non-famous one - a lifelong problem solver, customiser, mechanic, and adventure rider.

​

David’s passion for client motorcycle rides started around the turn of the millennium after moving to Australia. Leading riders through the rugged trails of the Watagans and Sydney's surrounding bushland, David started taking friends, then clients, and before long, started exploring more and more of Australia, venturing deeper and deeper into the vast Australian Outback.

​

Early on, David noticed a recurring theme: many riders had the ambition and the machines for big adventures, but lacked the specialised off-road confidence and preparation to fully enjoy them. To bridge that gap, David began combining adventure touring with on-trail coaching. He further honed his instructional background working alongside one of New South Wales’ largest official rider training providers while running his own bespoke coaching tours.

In early 2019, M8 MOTO operations paused for the ultimate test of endurance: setting off on an epic overland motorcycle expedition from Australia to the United Kingdom, arriving in late 2022.

​

That journey across continents inspired the next evolution of M8 MOTO. In 2023, M8 MOTO officially relaunched in the UK, bringing a world’s worth of experience, trail knowledge, and passion to a global riding community.

Based at Patrick Brompton, a small village on the edge of the scenic Yorkshire Dales, our UK hub is built to serve every stage of your riding journey:

Our Experience Days and UK tours are designed to unlock your bike's full potential—guiding you through top-tier terrain while building your skills at your own pace.

• Off-Road & Adventure Rider Training: From foundational dual-sport techniques to advanced obstacle handling, our structured coaching gives you the practical skills needed to take on any expedition with confidence.
