This tour is for you if you want to experience the ultimate tour of Northern Pakistan, we travel to places very few people visit, even Pakistani locals.
Expect spectacular scenery, unique cultures, and some distinctly challenging roads. We cross Mountains, Passes, Plains & Deserts as we head to the Khyber region in the West, to the Border with China in the North, and through the three largest mountain ranges on earth. We also optionally hike to Nanga Parbat Basecamp, the killer mountain.
Terrain & Riding: Significant stretches of off-road riding, including loose gravel, mud, shallow water crossings, and steep gradients. Longer days in the saddle require higher stamina, good balance, and confident bike handling on uneven or changing surfaces.
Cultural Experience: Immersive remote travel. You may experience distinct cultural norms, limited English proficiency among locals, basic regional sanitation facilities, and rustic accommodations. Flexibility and an open mind toward local customs are usually required.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Skardu
When you land in Skardu on the morning flight from Islamabad, we will meet you and transport you to your hotel, where your bike will be waiting for you. Feel free to jump on one of the bikes and take it for a spin around town. If you're up for it, we may head to the desert to play in the dunes.
In the evening, we all have dinner together to get to know each other a little, go through a few do’s and don’ts and answer any last-minute questions you may have.
Day 2 - Khaplu
The first riding day is a nice, easy day to ease you into the trip. We set off from Skardu and head east, following the mighty Indus River. On the far side of the river, you will get great views of Sarfaranga, the world's highest Cold Desert. We visit Manthoka Waterfall for lunch, a beautiful and majestic waterfall located in the Kharmang Valley with crystal-clear water, before continuing to our overnight stop in Khaplu.
Day 3 - Hushe
We travel the Hushe Valley, which is surrounded by some of the highest and most rugged peaks in the world; we have lunch with the dramatic and stunning backdrop of Masherbrum (7,821 meters) and Laila Peak (6,096 meters) in front of us in the village of Hushe. After Lunch, we travel back via the village of Haldi at the base of the Haldi Cones, an awe-inspiring set of granite mountains that feature dramatic ridges, sharp spires, and towering cliffs, many of which have never been climbed.
Day 4 - Sarfaranga
We retrace our steps and follow the mighty Indus River downstream before exploring the unique and stunning high-altitude desert of Sarfaranga (Also known as the Katpana Desert).
Sarfaranga is characterised by vast expanses of white dunes, creating a surreal and otherworldly landscape which we will optionally cross before heading back to Skardu for the night.

What to Expect
The Ride
The first few days we take it easy, allowing you time to get used to the altitude and the local road rules. Then it's time to head West and ride through some of the best dirt roads you can imagine, roads that snake along the bottom of valleys, following the course of the river. Roads that cling halfway up a cliff face with no barrier between you and the water below. Roads that have never been sealed and are maintained by the locals.
Culturally, this can be a challenging trip; we visit several areas that Western visitors rarely go to. This entire region is not yet geared for Western tourism; expect a full cultural immersion experience.
We are at altitude for a good proportion of the trip, travelling from around 2,00m to well over 3,500m.
Important Information
Some of the places visited on this trip are on certain governments' lists of places not to go, such as the Swat Valley, Lower Dir (although we only just skirt this), Kalash Valley etc.
We do ride very close to the Afghanistan Border (e.g when in Kalash we are about 5km from Afghanistan), but out of the tribal regions.
It is possible that your travel insurance may be invalid whilst in these regions.

Accomodation

24 Nights of accommodation: All Hotels are the best available.
A flexible attitude is needed, as services will NOT be what you are accustomed to.
Electricity is typically available for around 4 hours a day; diesel generators are used as backups
Hot water is usually available for showers, but cannot be guaranteed at all accommodation options
All accommodation is on a twin-share basis. For solo travellers, we endeavour to pair you with a fellow guest. If you prefer a private room, a single supplement is available.
Dinning

24 Dinners are included, which are varied, from local curries to Chinese-influenced dishes and locally inspired dishes
24 Breakfasts are included, which consist primarily of Eggs, Paratha, Toast, Butter & Jam, occasionally Channa or Aloo Bhujia
The traditional cuisine of Gilgit-Baltistan is shaped entirely by its high-altitude landscape and rugged mountain climate. Unlike the heavily spiced, oil-rich dishes found in central Pakistan, traditional food here is subtle, organic, and deeply comforting.
The cooking focuses on preserving natural flavours using local mountain herbs, whole wheat, barley, dairy products, and mountain-grown fruits like apricots and walnuts.
Because winters in the region are long and severe, many traditional dishes are designed to be nutrient-dense, warming, and packed with energy.
